Dear Pat,

I called when I found out that I was having serious problems with my First Class Medical Certificate.

You directed me to call Dr Audie Davis, which I did. He was very kind and very knowledgeable about my particular problem.

He did not just sit back and suggest things that I should do, but instead took my case and worked directly with the FAA for me. I will not go into the particulars, but, mine was a rather complicated case. Dr Davis stayed in touch with me updating me on how things were going.

Then, after a couple weeks Dr Davis called me and faxed me my temporary certificate from the FAA. I consider it a miracle, an answer to prayer, and I am very appreciative to him and you folks at Harvey Watt.

Again, I want to thank you and everyone else who was involved in getting me back in the air. Every year it seems to be some sort of obstacle that has to be cleared before I can get legal again. This year, however, it was a doozey!

My AME here in Asheville said that I must know some mighty big folks down in Atlanta to get things pushed through the way we did! I don’t know all of what went on but I do know that you and the others involved did a tremendous job in getting things to happen. Hopefully the next time we have to do this it will all go nice and smooth.

Dear Octavia and Michael,

I wanted to thank you both for your phone calls yesterday. It meant a great deal to me to hear from you and help alleviate much of the anxiety that I feel being on disability. I never would have thought my flying career would have ended up this way.

Over these many years of sickness I have learned a great deal about living in constant pain, but I have also learned a great deal about the healthcare system, doctors, nurses, and insurance companies. It is mind boggling for anyone to sometimes comprehend and even more so when you are seriously ill.

The journey to recovery would have been far more difficult without the support of my claims consultant. She helped me keep up with all the confusing paperwork as I moved into long term disability, always offering expert advice and instruction.
