Long Term Disability
If you were disabled and couldn’t work as a result of an illness or injury, do you have the resources to cover your expenses?
What is Long Term Disability?
Long Term Disability is designed to start replacing your income after you have been grounded for 6 months. We offer two types of Long Term Disability coverage.
The first plan is our Monthly Pay plan, this is designed to supplement your income on a monthly basis when you are temporarily disabled but expected to return to active flight status when your health permits. This plan replaced up to 67% of your income to a maximum of $6,000 a month continues to pay for up to 4 years.
The second plan is our Lump Sum Catastrophic plan. This benefit is designed to provide a lump sum in the event you suffer a permanent medical disability allowing you to adjust to the reduction of monthly income that inevitably follows permanent disability and the loss of your FAA Medical Certification. Permanent disability is defined as a disability from which you are not reasonably expected to recover.
If a pilot was to become permanently disabled and purchased both the Monthly Pay and Lump Sum they would receive benefits from both plans.
